anybody get chicks and they all live?? Getting mine today and nervous

I will chime in on the worry

All the chicks I picked up at the feed store all survived 3 years ago.

All the chicks I picked up 4/2/10 from a different feed store all survived so far

8 out of 10 chicks from a feed store on 4/5/10 have survived so far (I expected losses there, they had 5 isolated because they were weak, I think they were sitting at the PO on Sunday and the store didn't pick them up until Monday)

I made my first order with Healthychicksandmore this year. My VERY first time I have ordered live chicks to come in the mail.. All 11 were DOA... they didn't reship the next week, but they did reship this week and MIL says all are alive and kicking at home right now.....

2 SLW, 2 DB, 2 BO, 2 BG, 2 SS and 2 mysterious.. probably EE..

I will pray that all yours does well... that first time is a scary one, and nerve racking..

I got 17 Black Jersey Giant hens From Ideal. They all arrived in GREAT shape and in less than 16 hours from notification of shipment!!! I guess it helps to live less than 500 miles away! LOL I want to breed the blacks to my blue/splash Giants.
Oh yeah! I got 3 BO roo's as packing p-nuts. They are SOOOOooooo sweet!!! almost sweeter and gentler than the Giants! LOL Its a close race as to who is the most layed back! hahaha

Good luck and God Bless!

I got 50 from a breeder last Friday. They were shipped Express. They were mailed last Thursday afternoon and were in my brooder the next morning at 9:30. I traced the route and found out that they arrived at my local airport at 7:10 Thursday night. I was very pleased with the chicks and the shipping. Express is the only way to ship chicks in my opinion. Sure it does cost more, but worth it.
