We have a chicky!!! He/she looks pretty tired though. I'm hatching in a carton and the chick is still sitting in the egg. The top of the eggs is zipped right around but the top is still sitting ontop and his head is hanging out the side. I've seen him lift his head and than rest it back down once he's had a look around.

Should I take the top of the egg off?

What a great thing to wake up to! I was so worried all night about my temps!

Sarah, I really don't think you should open the bator. Especially if you have other eggs still in there. I would give it a few hours. I'm sure it will fall off as he dries off. I would get a few pictures, though! That's got to be a funny sight!

I have a real pip now!! I can't really even see it, bu I can see small peices of the shell in the incubator. Today is Day 20, and I want a chick!!!! LOL My humidity stayed at a constant 64% ALL night. So weird, it has NEVER stayed!

. . . once the first pip showed for me, it was about 4 hours to the first zip and the other pips just piled up. I know others that it took much longer, but hopefully your 'patient' waiting is nearly at an end!

So the shell worked its way off as he moved around more. He is still in the shell, but trying to get out. He has a cone head! Is that normal??

S/he is WCB Polish x Sultan bantam

These are my 19day old canary babies. They learned to fly yesterday and this morning we found them perching on the branches with their parents
