Love this one~ Buff Orp.

Of the 23 eggs 20 have either hatched or are currently zipping or at least have a pip... I am so excited this is my first ever hatch!

We started the morning with 2 pips and now we have TWO babies! There is a third that is zipping as quick as can be, and will be out soon! So exciting! A day early too! These little babies must have been eager to get out!

This is day 21... I got the eggs from a local person we know. i have 1 welsummer in there with a pip, if it hatches I am going to get more of those to try next. The shell was so dark, I could never tell anything when candling...

I got the first one out this afternoon (on it's own) You know, I was SO excited because it was from my NH Red Bantams. It came out and I"m looking at it...and it has feathers on its feet. Hmmmmm So I look again at the writing on the egg...NHR.

Well apparently that small bantam Roo CAN mate those giant half-breed Barred Cochins I inherited. I always laughed because he couldn't "reach". And apparently I have one that layed a smaller egg that day

I got 5 babies out!!! My other 2 haven't pipped or anything yet. I know that the other one isn't going to hatch but I'm hopeful that the 2 that I'm waiting on will hatch. Today is day 21.

Even if none of the others hatch, I've got better than 50% to hatch out and I'll be happy with that.
