Anybody going to be hatching around March 22?

Hey everybody - I had two chicks hatch early this morning, then three more during the day. My bator is pretty small and they are jumping all over the other eggs and jumping at the corners like they are trying to escape. Should I take them out and put them in my brooder yet? There are still about 15 eggs to hatch so I don't think I should leave them in there until they are all hatched.

Please tell me if I should take the little rascals out.

Okay I have 4 completely dry chickys and they have knocked the thermometer/hydrometer and now I don't know what the humidity is at. Can I open it quickly and set it up? Maybe grab a couple of chicks?

Yay! Yay! Yay!
We had a chick hatch this afternoon, and just now during dinner 2 more!!! Exciting!!!

I did take out the first one who hatched and put him in the brooder but will wait until these next two are completely dry before moving them. I read that you should take them out one time each day, but I think it really depends on your situation. Also, my husband is the chick-mama on this (our first!) hatch and we were very careful to have the bator open for a real short time (like seconds).

Sooooo exciting! I wish everyone super luck!

Ok, I couldn't take it any longer.

Another one just hatched and was laying there and the three older ones were all standing on him while trying to get the lid off the bator. I took those orneries out and now they are sleeping under the brooder lamp. The poor baby can now recuperate.

The brooder must of been too hot. The four were picking at the new ones so I moved them over. 20 minutes later and they are all dead on their back with white centers in their eyes. It was a 75 watt bulb 10 inches above their head, but the box was small.

Edit: I think it's been 45 minutes not 20. Either way, I was more worried about them being too cold.
