I made an account and then unsubscribed. I don't have time, and I don't like reading from a screen. I do like reading from Project Gutenberg though (when I'm supposed to be doing homework!) because most of the books are older - like early 1900's. Also the Internet Archive is a good place.

Oh, and books I enjoy reading? It's a long list...

I use Goodreads. I never leave any reviews or anything but I do appreciate the reviews and ratings other people leave. I find it good for when someone mentions a book I can add it to my "want to read" shelf on there and come back to it later when I have a spare bit of cash to buy the book.

Goodreads is great! I use it for the social aspect, mostly. I'm a member of a lot of groups, especially a debate club I started and am moderating (and always looking for more members!). There is some drama on GR, but overall it's a pretty cool community!

It's also kind of a thankless job if you're a librarian, not that I need praise, but here you get all kinds of recognition. Otherwise you're just working for Amazon for free.

Goodreads is owned by Amazon? or is it just that so many people buy from them? I know they bought several of their competitors (Abebooks, etc).

Oh, and I don't have a Goodreads account. I go there once in a while to check the order of the books in a series or see what other books an author wrote, maybe.
