Anybody in Indiana?

Well, I've got silkie eggs in the incubator -cross your fingers! I was hoping that one of the silkies would go broody and I wouldn't need to use the incubator but no such luck. I really wish the weather would stay warm too! I don't know about the rest of you Hoosiers but I'm kinda tired of the cold!

Good luck with your hatch. Right now, we have standard and bantam Ameraucanas, barred rocks, white rocks, Cuckoo Marans and barnevelders in the incubators. I am looking forward to chicks.

Schultz, tired of the cold too! Hubby said that just this AM. Hens need to be out pecking the ground and not each other. Hope springs eternal - it will be spring soon.
Gram - near Kokomo

I'm getting pretty tired of winter as well!

Yesterday I put the chickens out in their run. When I checked on them later in the day I nearly freaked out because they weren't there! When I got closer I noticed they were all huddled up in the corner where the tarp was put up for a wind block. They told me in no uncertain terms that it was time to go back to the barn! (boy will I be glad when we've got a run attached to the barn so they can go in and out on their own!)

My mother in law lives in the Dayton Ohio area. She sent me a picture of one of her flowers (some sort of crocus I think) starting to peak through the snow. I really need to plant some of those.

Looking forward to warmer, sunny days. (even though yesterday and today are both beautifully sunny...it's COLD!)

Very cold today! Our chickens have the freedom to go in and out but days like today it's mostly in. We have daffodils that have been coming up for about 2 weeks now and there are robins everywhere, but to me it's still winter

I don't know that all the robins left this year. It seems I've seen them though the whole winter. I kept thinking it was really odd. Esp. since this has been a pretty cold winter compared to the last couple years.

It is still very cold up here, 11 degrees this morning, 25 right now . . . brrrrrrrr. My dogs do not even want to go out. Good thing they are little AND good thing they are paper trained
