Anybody keep geese in the backyard?

My birds aren't in my backyard all of the time. They come out about once a day just to socialize and graze and follow me everywhere.

They spend the days in the pasture and nights in the barn.

Us to, They have their own "goose house" for nights, and 5 acres to graze during the day. All my birds comingle during the day.
The guinea and geese are excellent for letting us know some one or thing is here that doesn't belong.

If you choose to get geese I know you will be happy. Get them as a gosling pair and hand raise them and they will pick a spot in your heart ! You will know why all of us have our geese then.....

How do you house your geese from predators or when you are away for a few days at a time?

Mine go into the chicken coop at night. But I free range everyone during the day. Geese hang out at the pond or where ever.they choose to waddle.

Is there a noise problem when you live in the suburbs?

My geese aren't typically noisy unless someone or something is disturbing them however they are better guard dogs then my German shepherds.
