I've searched and searched for an answer to this question but couldn't find one so I thought I might as well try here.
We have a Nectarine tree (It was sold as a peach tree but the fruit does not have fuzz) and it is a couple of years old. Anyway it puts on fruit but as soon as they are about an inch in size the fruit starts weeping. It looks like a clear sap that crystalizes, hanging from the fruit. There does not appear to be any marks on the fruit from insects or anything else and the tree itself does not weep or leak anything. Does anyone know what this is or why it's doing this? Thanks for your help or just for reading this.

Hopefully this helps....I would treat the tree anyways for bugs. Bugs can be very small so small we can't see them with our eye. Other cause maybe too much hot sun. See if you can shade the tree some how and see if that helps.

I should add that this only happens to the Nectarine tree and not to the Peach tree that right next to it. They both have fruit but only the Nectarine tree has this problem, and there is no discoloration to the fruit at all.

This does not happen to the tree at all. ONLY to the young developing fruit. The sap is not soft either but hard like rock candy and has no color, just clear.
