So... 2 years ago we put in 2 new peach trees. They are a bit young and also small. BUT they started producing peaches right away. We weren't expecting them to actually do new peaches until the third year. But if you pay attention to watering and nutrition as soon as they are in the ground, YOU CAN GET FRUIT FASTER than if they were doing all the work themselves! This part is exciting and maybe will help others who are thinking about orchard trees themselves for their yards.

Here's my question;

1 of the peach trees, has developed what looks like a sap pocket on the top of the bark. Its not very big. Maybe thumbnail sized. We don't see any bugs on the tree other than ants. We prevented several aphid infestations, so the rest of the tree and leaves are healthy.

For this small sap pocket... I wanted to ask if its possible to get these from watering too much? (And not only from disease or pests?) Other than this small tiny sap pocket everything appears to be healthy.

Thanks for any insight on this.

The sap is like a scab on a wound, this can happen when the tree has been injured such as pruning when the sap is still moving or a bit of bark has been removed or broken,this also can happen when a branch becomes heavy and the bark splits, and lastly you may have peach bark beetles
