I agree wholeheartedly. I wish people on ebay would base their feed back for them on what quality of birds they're getting from their eggs rather than if they arrived in one piece.

I agree! But that is all we can do for feedbacks how she packaged the eggs, not the fertility part. However as I noticed in some Ebayer's feedbacks there were some updates on the products. Its too bad that Ebay wont allow later feedbacks when you question the fertility. I do remember those kind of lines, Relics, and it just rubs me the wrong way.....

PrettyFrog, you are not cursed about hatching out blue chickens. Orpingtons are the hardest to hatch out or "hold" on to the embryoes to last until hatching times is touchy. It does get expensive and sometimes I would have to end up buying a trio for the same amount for eggs needed to build up a flock.

Candled the Spitz eggs, disappointed in the roo, his fertility is not that great. One egg for every four to six eggs!

My friend that got her eggs only got one out of every eight eggs! Fertility is questionable there.

I usually wait to post feedback until after the hatch. I have never waited until the stock was grown but now that I think about it is not a bad idea. I ordered from Julie twice and got only 1 chick out of 24 eggs and the quality was no better than any commercial hatchery (which she disclosed to me when I ordered). The hen has a nice temperament and made a nice pet for a friend. I did not ask for a refund, I did not feel there was any need (shipped eggs and all). If I have a terrible hatch from a breeder I usually do not order from them again or I will get live birds instead. I did find Julie to be very pleasant, so no complaints there.

I never considered the possibility of the post office killing the eggs with x-rays, but it seems to be something that many people who have hatched mail order eggs have experienced. I just bought some Marans eggs from a local lady and she suggested the same thing. Thanks for all the feedback, and I did have the incubator turned on, I guess I must have taken my ginkgo biloba that day!

Has anyone here noticed that not only do they NOT sell Ameraucanas (they're Easter Eggers, and even claimed on the site as a "hybrid" between Araucanas and Ameraucans. . Which is false. . ) and even their Black Copper Marans are rather poor of quality?

They have such a huge variety that there is NO guarantee, as others have previously said, on quality of birds OR eggs. Even looking at their photos shows that their "dark layers" have 5-6 eggs on the Marans scale, rather khaki green eggs for "Ameraucanas" and very plain, hatchery-type looking Orpingtons, Rocks, Wyandottes, and Australorps.

They seem like any other hatchery to me, - The only difference being that they offer "rare breeds." they have a fancy looking website, and they only sell hatching eggs. ( Which most hatchery customers don't care for - They just want the chick, so it grows up to lay them eggs. )
