I just wanted to post pictures of my Rainbow Chickens purchased at my local Rural King - Hoover's Hatchery, on March 29, 2025.

I know I was googling to see what they looked like, "every chicken is different" can cause minor anxiety some folks (aka me).

I got 6 babies. Tried to get ones that were colored as different as possible.

Day 1, mostly brown girl (later to be named Kisses because she was giving lots of 'love' pecks!)

Day 1, mostly blonde (I don't think she has been named, my 'not' kids were helping name while they visited on Spring Break)

Now random pictures from Week 4 to 6+. All the Rainbow Chickens are huge compared to the others that came home that same day. The following week I came home with another 9, they look really small compared to the Rainbows!

So far, they are very curious and social. Kisses hasn't been "kissing" anybody since the kids left. I think the kids were a lot too much to the birds stressing them out. Love the kids but don't blame the birds!

Pen-Pen, pictured on cinder block, has always been the biggest and the most curious. She is always watching me!

I will update whenever I get good pictures and hopefully when fully grown, to see the final product!

Thanks!

Nice birds. In looking at your photos I did notice that rather large gap under the door which could potentially be an entry point for snakes. They have been known to kill younger fowl.
Good point!
This is a work in progress coop. I am wanting to put a larger lip around doors so I can do deep litter.
We have only seen (very small) Garter & Lined Snakes but we are in Southern Illinois so there is a chance of bigger snakes that would eat these babies.
