Anyone bought brahmas from Meyer Hatchery?

This is my buff brahma, Burrito. She's the sweetest chicken ever. I hatched one egg from her and it ended up being a pullet. The dad was a Dominique mix so the baby is barred, but has the body size and disposition of its mom.

She's gorgeous!! I can't wait to get my brahmas this spring, I've never had this breed before. Looking at everyone's photos and descriptions though I am so excited to finally have them.

I bought some marans to start a breeding program last spring, and I honestly regret it. I should have started breeding brahmas, but I love having just these two because I feel close to them so that was probably why I didn't go that route.

I love Maran's although I never owned them, their eggs are gorgeous! Just out of curiosity why didn't your Maran breeder flock not work out? I want to someday start a breeder flock for my future brahmas and would love to hear advice from people who had experience.

I still have the maran flock, but they just came into maturity this fall, so no chance to save and hatch eggs yet. The rooster is a huge jerk though, but he alone was $24 so I'm going to breed him anyways and pick the sweetest rooster I can and get rid of the current one.

@SunshineDucky, hey bud! I never knew you were into chickens? Last time I recall you had a small flock of call ducks.
I used to be a duck head when I got into this hobby but within the last few years I made the great leap with chickens :). I gave my call duck flock to a friend of mine and I visit him and his flock every once in a while.

That's a smart idea, best of luck to you and your flock endeavors!

Ours came from Cackle hatchery. The buff Brahmas were not available, we have the white. Not a very good picture. The Brahmas are very easy going. The Brahma rooster is somewhat friendly, but not mean at all.
We have Bruiser the Brahma rooster and Spikey the Silkie rooster behind the Brahma. They each have their own group of ladies to look after.
