Ok I am looking to see if anyone has built one of these for their cabinet incubator.

I am having trouble getting my humidity up to over 30 percent.

Yes I could buy one from one of the poultry places and I may , however I would like to see if maybe I can build one myself instead.

I prefer to not have to pay to ship a bucket through the mail.

I am wondering if anyone knows where or if they make small float valves that can be bought at local plumbing stores.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

it would be very easy to build...

1. buy the small float from GQF
2. get a 5 gallon pail, and some tubing and connectors from you local home improvement store
3. get a plastic tray of some sort that could hold a gallon or so of water inside the top of the bator, and have lots o surface area

connect the bucket with some tubing down to the tray and onto the float valve..and you are all set...that's all that GQF uses. Not a difficult setup at all.

I have built a few of them. I get my float valves from american plastics.. less than $8.ea.. the rest of the fittings I get from our Farm supply store.. for les than $12.oo you can have one..

when you put the fittings into the 5 gal pail, stay up from the botom in case there any dirt or debris in the water,, It will sink to the bottom and not go through the tubing and block the float valve in the open or closed postion..
