Does the humidity seem to drop abruptly in your Brinsea? I am constantly checking the temps and humidity in my bators. I have a Genesis 1588 and a Oct 20 Eco. The temps in both are rock solid, but I seem to have a problem with humidity in the Brinsea. This is my first time hatching anything and don't really have that much experience. I researched here and other places for a while before I started. I decided to do a Dry Hatch with both my chickens and my turkeys. My Genesis (incubating my chicken eggs) is giving me no problems with humidity. Rarely drops below 25, but my Brinsea (incubating my turkey eggs) will very abruptly drop to 16. This is mostly at night or early morning. I'll add a few drops of water and it will immediately fly to anywhere between 35 - 39. I am constantly checking it, even throughout the night I am constantly getting up with my flashlight to check (I know it sounds like I'm obsessing, but these eggs originally started in an LG before buying the Brinsea and the experience has my nerves shot). Haven't really slept much since I set these on April 15, but last night I slept through the night and now I'm a little concerned. Not sure how long it was at 16%. I do know it was sometime past 12:30 am.

Does this happen to anyone else? Does it have anything to do with it having Turkey eggs and my Genesis having Chicken eggs? How can I fix it so it doesn't drop that low? And if a few drops makes it shoot up that high, what is going to happen once I bring it to lockdown and fill both trays with water? Once I bring it to lockdown, what humidity level will be considered too high?

Ooops! Sorry, my computer did something freaky and this went out twice. 18 minutes apart too. Really freaky.

Where would you like your humidity to be? Are you filling one well/trough? Have yoiu tried adding a sponge or cloth (small one) in an attempt to maintain humidity? How wide open is your vent?
