I candled the eggs this morning (Day 13) pulled out a few quitters, saw lots of wiggling which was really exciting! I just candled them while they were in the egg turner to try to be as fast as possible and disturb them the least. I'm not going to check them again until lock down! I think USPS must have been really rough with the surprise pack, I only have about 4 left out of 14 and a couple of those have slippery air sacks. Or it may have just been too hot and too far for them to travel.

Now comes the BOOM!!
I am so sorry for your loss. I am not an angry person but she makes me want to slap her in the face. Does she pet sit a lot? I think if she is online you should make others aware she can't follow directions.
Hello, that was me

Oh, ok, I was confused. I'll be looking forward to hearing how you liked it!

we wanted to pay her but, she would not hear of it.

It's these kind of people who make the world a wonderful place. I'm so happy that you got some resolution for your loss. Would you post pictures of the babies for us?

Often, that is the case with shipped eggs. It's interesting that Meyers can ship eggs and I'll get an 80 to 100% hatch, either under a broody or using an incubator, and shipped eggs from eBay often don't do as well. I do get eggs from eBay, but order twice the amount I want now. There is a seller, goodm_bonni, who I got my last batch of Polish from. She used to be on here. I got an 85% hatch and she was excellent with her communication. I will use her again. I don't know if she sells any other breeds.

My E-Bay eggs look fabulous, every single one of them is developing. The surprise pack came from a breeder's website. I misread and thought they were coming from NC but it was really Northern CA, and I think it was just too hot & too far. I tried to order from breeders that were as close as possible, just had an "Oooops."

The girl came over to our house in tears yesterday. She said the other sitting job she had that week the people wanted her to get the eggs out quick, because those chickens would start to crack and eat the eggs if left any amount of time. She got confused and took ours out as well. She said life lesson learned and she would take her note book and write down each specific notes form now on. She said also that they had learned..."Egg development was due to a broody hen and would never make that mistake again either".

i'm still mad , but proper respect to her for caring and taking the time to learn. She still wanted to pay us back. I said "The lady we got the eggs from is giving us some chicks tomorrow". "You don't need to pay us back Just, take it as lesson learned.

I hate to lose life, but its part of life.
