Anyone doing thanksgiving for your ducks?

My ducks just learned to eat an apple I cut one and put in in a suet feeder for the chikens and of course the ducks had to try it, they also love grapes if I bite them into first, but their over all favorite treat is mealworms dried ! they'd probably eat them live but don't have nay place inside to do it.

My ducks love chopped up Onions.. their breath stinks.. I was watching TV the other night with a duck and it opened its mouth and OMG.. I about died. Talk about needed a tic tac

@ "watching TV the other night with a duck"...

My gang got some chopped up lettuce as usual. They are really picky about what treats they get. They absolutely won't touch peas, or cracked corn, or dry cat food, or squash. I reminded them that they are lucky we bought them to be pets, not dinner.

Yes TV with my duck. She is a snuggle bunny. I have a house duck. Just because I don't over populate males, doesn't mean I don't love them dearly and even have some "pets" Little Delilah goes where she wants when she wants and rules the Standard Poodle, toy poodle, and Great Pyr that also share the house at night. She wasn't feeling well one day so I brought her in and she was such a nice guest I just never put her back out.

Don't worry DuckGirl your not the only one! Mine get leftover veggies, fruit, meatscraps, pumpkin, greens. etc. Although... they get those things almost every day....... lol! We are softies!

Bones? I never thought to try that, Miss Lydia.
How does that work? Do your Scovies have teeth?

For the lady a couple post up you shouldnt feed your ducks onions to often or not at all it can cause a blood condition called hemolytic anemia, which is followed by respiratory distress and eventual death.

Haha! This thread is cracking me up how this sweet girl who adores her ducks started it and some people are posting about giving their ducks treats for the holidays while others are talking about eating them and showing pics of carcasses. Too funny.
