I have a partially unzipped chick!!

It's actual hatch date is tomorrow. Since I lost power for 2 hours Tues morning, and the temps crashed badly, I'm really excited to see this little bantam cochin girl making an appearance!!

Sadly, the 2 silkie eggs and 6 button quail are NOT doing anything...

Wow that's really early. What were the temps in your bator?

my temps were staying around 99 or 100

I'm "due" in 5 days, I quit turning on the 8th!!! These are going to be the longest days of my life.

I'd guess your gauge is innacurate if it's reading 99 and your chicks are hatching on day 17...

as for me, its day 16 and only one egg looks somewhat fertile

i think if none hatch, time to order chickies!!!!

The cochins and Marans are my favorites in just about all the colors. I am planning on raising salmon favorolles though. I just got 15 in the mail today and they will go in the bator later tonight.
I did order 25 mixed feather footed bantams from McMurray too, day old chicks which will be here the week of the 23rd.
