Anyone due on March 5th??

My ducks are due the 4th. This is a test batch and I only have 2 eggs left out of 6, but I candled and they seem to be doing ok.

I'm due around the 5th too. I have 18 silkie eggs and a dozen d'uckles and a couple of polish x eggs in there. Cant wait! I didnt candle last go around - never even opened the bator until it was time to move to the hatcher....and had a GREAT hatch, so we're doing the same this time too.

Good luck everyone!!!!!!

Just candled my 23 eggs that are due around the 5th. For sure 8 of them were not fertile, I believe another 3-5 had stopped very early and/or had blood rings. I left them....just in case. Will toss them at the next candling. I was sure hoping for a better turn out, but some of the eggs were around or a bit over 2 weeks old and had gotten too cold. Figured I would give them a try.

I have showgirls silkies due last night through toady, so far i have 2 pips.

I want in on the good hatching vibes please! I'll send some in return. I have 8 Salmon Faverolles due on the 5th or thereabouts. Just checked and three have pipped so far, and a fourth one is peepin' and rockin'!

I have 4, waiting on one more egg. The first baby hatched on Wednesday, the other 3 yesterday. I candled the last egg last night to see if it was still alive and I saw it moving around in there!!! Late bloomer I guess!

I had originally set 6 eggs, 1 was not fertile. 3 were Buff orp, 2 EE's all were crossed with my Partridge cochin.

So the EE eggs were green and pinky dark brownish (lol) the rest were a lighter buff color.

When they hatched I was paying attention to who came from which egg. The first one came out of an orp egg, 2nd was green, 3rd was pink, 4th was orp....so I thought. The last (4th)baby that hatched out of what I thought was an orp egg had puffy cheeks and a beard??? The one that hatched out of the pink egg that I thought was an EE egg, has no puffy cheeks and looks like the orp baby, just smaller. I only have 2 EE's so I thought I had it narrowed down to who laid which egg.
So now I am thinking my "special" RIR, Little Red, is a Momma!! I think she layes the darker, pinkish eggs. I didn't think she was laying..she is a special needs, kind of goofy and partially blind (in the video you will hear me ask her if she can see me)

So the chicks are telling me that one EE lays green, one lays buff...

Here is the video of my new babies!!

I need them!!! I started out with 11 eggs, only 4 made it to day 15.

Today is day 22 and none have hatched.

I know... I know. I got desperate and opened all of them at the airsac.

One of the 4 was dead. the other three have movement but haven't yet pipped or even broken through the membrane on the inside.

so once I saw they were alive I stopped and put them back in the bator to finish hatching.

....and I am going out of town for the weekend so I will not help them anymore
