anyone else get really excited to collect eggs?

Okay so I always get so excited to go out and collect eggs ....

to me it is almost like having christmas every day..

you never totally know what you are gonna get...

could be banty or full size eggs...

how many...

well ...

I just love it ... call me crazy but sometimes it makes my day ...

anyone else an eggoholic ?

GUILTY! Both my hubby & I are like kids at an Easter egg hunt! (even tho we're just snatching eggs from a nest!)

I've had my 10 layers around long enough to tell what ones are not laying!!!! I read them the riot act when I know they're not doing their job! It's just fun to collect the eggs, especially after a long winter of only 2 or 3 eggs a day!!!!1

I still do after a year with chickens.. Sadly though my 4 yr old gets way more excited and beats me to the nest box.. First thing out of the car and he is running full tilt for the coop.. He crakcs me up though as he is the only kid in the family that will reach under a hen to get eggs.. all the rest are scared to death the hen will eat them ..

my son was so excited to collect eggs ... he was contstantally asking " can we go get eggs yet?"

It truley is something to look forward to ..............
My husband had been ill (we are retired) and became a little depressed.
He needed to get up and move around but was not motivated.
I bought two bottle baby goats and a few chickens.............
That got him out of that recliner.
We now have 6 goats and 50 chickens.
Anyway, having these to take care of has been great therapy for both of us.
I wish you could see him sitting in his lawn chair with his big rooster on his lap.
I love to collect eggs but let hubby do most of it because he has so much fun.
We sell rainbow packs....have eggers, Marans, buffs,barrerd rocks and RR,slw, astro's and speckled sussex.
These wonderful birds have really sparked up our lives.

Oh Oh Oh me me me...... I feel like a little kid again. I try to bother them as little as possible since theya re still getting used to me but I always want to check the nests. I am getting 5-7 eggs a day out of 12 hens. One day i got 9 and felt like i could explode!!! I love it.

We love it too! My 5 yr old girl is my main egg fanatic. She's so EGG-cited to see who laid an egg & what color it'll be. We girls never even give dad & brother a chance to even THINK about getting those eggs! LOL My lil girl can look @ a chicken & tell you what kind it is( if it's a pretty common breed ) & LOVES talking about EE's to everybody. She's my lil egg helper alright!

lol....my DH says I'm like a 5 year old in a candy store! I'm always giddy when I come back from collecting.
