Anyone else hatching Feb. 1st?

On January 11th I noticed my BO was broody with a couple eggs under her. I decided to let nature take its course and see what happens. Every day her clutch grew and grew until I finally started weeding some out when she had 12 eggs. I candled them all several times and since this is my very first time I judged the best I could. I did put the date on the eggs as they were added to the nest. Last week she was sitting on at least 20 eggs, so I cut her back to eight!

Today is day 21 for the egg I found on Jan. 11th so a friend and I went out to the hen house to candle the eggs and see how things are going. I picked up the egg with #11 on it and as we were trying to see SOMETHING inside the egg we noticed a crack! Wait... no, it wasn't a crack it was a PIP! OMG!

Okay, so now I'm freaking out. This baby has actually got to this stage, and I'm still amazed! Now that it has pipped, how long before she is out of the egg?

I took Ginger, my BO mom, off the nest to get the eggs to candle. We didn't mess with any other ones after we saw the one pip. Some of the due dates (if those eggs are still good) range from tomorrow through Feb. 9th or 10th! What should I do about the other eggs? Oh, and in case you counted, there were two new eggs on the nest today! I didn't check to see which ones were new because I just wanted to get Ginger back on her nest. I'm not even sure if I put the egg back in the right spot!

Someone calm me down! It's been 2-1/2 hours since I discovered the baby is on her way... now what???

Deep breath in.... deep breath out...

Thats what I thought that I should see an air cell..But nothing...What does that mean?

It could mean the baby has pipped through the air cell just not the egg.

Your doing exactly what you need to be doing...Deep breath in....Deep breath out...lol
Don't bother the eggs, let momma do the job. It can take 24+ hrs from pip to hatch.

Yes I went ahead and pulled all the first borns and left the 3 that have hatched today, I still have pippage on several eggs going on. But those babies wanted out and are doing really good

Are you crazy??? I'm suppose to sit in the house while my baby is out in the hen house hatching babies of her own???

Okay, I just realized that I am the crazy one! LOL!

I hadn't thought about separating her from the other hens (10 in all plus one roo). I guess I could keep myself busy coming up with a solution to that issue!
