Anyone else hatching Feb. 1st?

So happy for you both, Clucky and Roopty! I've got a total of 37 so far, I think. I really need to get the rest of them out of the hatcher. They want out bad! I hate to open it, but I have to anyway. I have to move my Feb 4th hatch into the hatching tray today-BBS Orps from Miss Prissy and my own Sebrights, Silkies, and D'uccles. Whew, I'm exausted.....Couldn't sleep last night, up till 1:30. It's gonna be a long week. And I'm going to pick up more eggs this week- RIRs, Dominiques, BLRW, Silkies, Buff Orps, and more of my own eggs to go in after the Feb 4th hatch.
This incubating thing really is getting outta hand! But it's so much fun!!

I now have 7 babies and still more to go. When do you take them out and put them in the brooder. I hate to open it up while things are still hatching. I noticed one thing on the chicks, some have yellow eyeliner and some do not, is this a sex characteristic for BR's??

I sure wish something red would hatch (NHR) so I could have alittle color

This is what I mean by the yellow around the eye. Some have it and some don't. He just Roo'ish doesn't it?

Ok, I set 43 eggs in the HB to hatch this morning. It's day 18 now.

My lone egg under my broody has not hatched. I checked today and what I thought was a pip is not!!!!! He hasn't even piped...I candled and the egg is full of chick can't see anything in the egg at all the air sac looks to be gone the whole egg is dark there is no light in the egg. Today is day 21...WHATS GOING ON???

I would give it time, some chicks just take longer than others

Clucky, have you pulled them out and but them in the brooder yet. I put some yesterday, and have a bunch more to pull today. But I've got a couple that I can see are working at getting out of the shell, so I'm going to wait as long as I can to open the bator. I usually try and not open it when I can see some are starting to zip. But these babies want out bad. Some hatched Friday night, so they are ready. But I know they can go 3 days, so I'm waiting as long as I can.

The whole egg is dark there is NO light getting through it period. So I know the egg is full of chick but is it still alive IDK? The egg is SO DARK INSIDE. So I have my fingers crossed!
