Anyone else have hatching anxiety? LOL

Currently on day 20 of my shipped Araucana eggs in the incubator. Anyone else suffer from the anxiety that comes during lockdown, wondering if you did anything wrong, wondering if any will even hatch? Gets to me everytime. Say I'm not alone!

Of course you're not alone. There are many factors, some of which we can't control, that determine hatching success - it's unpredictable. Definitely anxiety-inducing...but the stress becomes just a memory when there are chicks running around in the incubator.

This did make me chuckle, I literally used to go into meltdown esp when one hatched and the humidity went through the roof! It gets easier I guess the more experience you get, but yes, anxiety is still a big problem for me, I have to remind myself that Mother Nature will take care of things. Good luck with your hatch

Omg yes! I'm on day 9 of incubation with eggs from my own girls. I candled them on day 7 and they looked good.... At least I think. I've done so much research and learning before I ever even bought the thing but I'm still so worried. The first week I was ok... Now that I've looked at them and saw that theres (hopefully) little babies in there, my brain started to meltdown and my heart got that mom worry. My husband chuckles at me for it but this is our first batch and well, the miracle of life is just awesome either way! I think once I get to the lockdown stage, I'm going to really get anxious. Try not to go crazy! I'm sure all will end well!

You are definitely not alone!
I sleep out on the sofa in the living room during hatching season next to the incubators and wake up frequently to check on them. Never gets old!

Oh man, I'm a mess. We're about 3/4 of the way through day 20, turning day 21 this evening and worried that there seems to be no action still! Why do we do this to ourselves?

I'm on day 18 lockdown, my first hatch in an incubator and I'm crazy anxious!

Yeah good for you on the pip. Just another 2 days of so sitting on your hands and you will get chicks.

Not so good. One died during hatching and I had to help the other one who pipped down wrong end after 24 hours or would have lost her too. So just have a singleton chick.
