Jason has done this too...
We were putting in new fence posts the other day and had to move some big rocks. I found a few worms under them and gave to the our girls to give to the chickens. (was trying to keep the kids out of the way and what better than to watch a chicken with a worm). Well Jason thought I was foolish at first, then he heard the girls laughing at the chickens and telling the to take there turn and on and on.
So the next thing I know Jason is digging holes in the ground and flipping over rocks looking for all the worms he can find. He couldnt wait to feed them himself.
I seriously think he lead a sheltered life when it comes to farms. He never knew that chickens at worms, he never knew they ate bugs, he really didn't know to much. He still doesn't as neither to I when it comes to "farming", but he's learning. He is finally asking for farm eggs and eatting them. He even brags about them to the guys he works with at the armory. And now he takes eggs to them every once in awhile. They love them.
