I have a Hovabator 1588. The first hatch temp seemed to fluctuate some but the second hatch seems to have a hard time staying above 99.0. I just don't understand it. In the beginning it was as before but now at 98.7 and in that general area. First hatch humidity was relatively easy to maintain but now just a squirt with the eyedropper of water can send humidity up more than a couple of %'s.
Same hygrometer and thermo that I bought w/ the incubator. Room temp is lower by 10*'s. 70-80. 70*now. Heat in the house is off. How can I make adjustments for the heat being off? Or do I even need to. This hatch is due 4/29-30.

I had a somewhat similar problem with my first and only hatch with the 1588. The temperature stayed within about a 1 degree range for almost two weeks, then it dropped about a degree, but stayed within a one degree range for a few days. When I went into lockdown, it dropped another 2 degrees, but stayed within a one degree range. It seemd the drop came when I took the top with the thermostat in it off and put it back on to add water. It did not drop every time, just some of the times. I exchanged emails with the manufacturer of the 1588 and they said they though it was the thermometer malfunctioning. I'm not sure I totally believe that since the thermometer was not moved at any time except when I went into lockdown, but I will get another high quality thermometer before my next hatch. I did get 17 out of 27, with 4 or those 27 clears, so that was not too bad.

My humidity did stay pretty constant throughout, especailly when I put the top back on after adding water and made sure the turner cord was not propping the top open a crack. Even then, the temperature stayed within range.

right now it reads 98.7 and hum. is 36. I've been trying to hold it at 35%. The last hatch was during March and the house thermostat was set at 66* . Our house is humid to begin with, but it seems just a squirt is enough to raise it. Last time it took a few. Maybe it's the temp in the house?
