Anyone else here have a fish pond?

I am planning on cleaning my pond soon, along with getting the filter running for the year. I recently changed some of the screws that hold down the wood, which in turn holds down the edge of the liner, as they had broken. I used larger screws this time, as I wanted to avoid future breakage. There is still at least one broken bolt on one of the other pieces of wood, but I plan to change that one as well.

Here are some pictures of what the pond currently looks like:

It still looks a bit messy, but oh well. :p

We have several small, artificial ponds. One's just an old bathtub. No fish. We are growing these:
You could throw a few goldfish in there. They will eat the mosquito larvae. With the algae and all you wouldn't have to feed them. I kept goldfish in my stock tanks. They thrived. Except for the time the automatic waterer malfunctioned, the water got low and the cow drank them.

@CarpCharacin did you ever get that monitoring system in?
Unfortunately not. I wouldn't have been able to do much other than monitor / log temperature and pH and while that would have been nice, the pH sensor would have required calibration and monitoring systems are most useful when they are also used to control things (lighting, chemical dosing, etc.) which is probably why they're less commonly used in ponds.

Anyway, my pond filter unfortunately isn't running at the moment. The UV light was flickering, so I went out there and made the dumb mistake of not turning off the pump before opening the housing which caused the quartz sleeve containing the bulb to get ejected and cracked. Though I think water potentially got into the quartz sleeve before that, the silicone holding it to the threaded piece looked like it had weakened (maybe due to the UV light) and it hadn't been too long since I last changed the bulb. Thankfully the new quartz sleeve and light electronics should arrive tomorrow.
Just saw this thread! I have a koi pond with koi, goldfish, hundreds of platies, and placos
