Anyone else hunt mushrooms?

Awesome all! ML my buddy and his dad have hunted them for acouple years. And the good thing with Morels there is only 1 false shroom that is poisonous. But you can tell the difference because the head of the False Morel doesnt connect the same way the true morels do.
And they are really really yummy!

So far it's a lean year up here in northern MI. I've picked enough for 1 meager meal for me and Hal.

But it rained last night so maybe tomorrow there will be a few more.

Too bad I won't eat those brainy looking ones my neighbors eat. Plenty of those around usually! Up here people actually sell those brainy ones, claiming they are morels.

What area in Northern Michigan do you look for them? We are up in Marquette County on Lake Superior.

my husband does. He picks the ones that grow on the trees. My MIL is the guru of plants and he learned from her. in fact, her parents built the farm we live on now.

You can find wild mushrooms in the Mt. Hood National Forest, about 30 minutes from where I live. It is morel season, thanks for reminding me
