Are there any other horse racing fans looking forward to the Belmont race on Saturday? If I'll Have Another wins, he's going to be the first Triple Crown winner in over 30 years!

I am looking forward to saturday but it is for airsoft instead of horse racing. I don't follow horse racing, but it is always exciting when I watch it and its always fun to look at big hats.

Well, I was looking forward to seeing the race on Saturday. Now that I'll Have Another has been scratched it is not so interesting. What is going to be interesting is the speculation over the reason for the scratch. Did the horse really have signs of early tendonitis (as the trainer says) or because of the trainer's past history with drug violations was there a more sinister reason?

Dang it, I just got the news too

Capvin, he could very well have pulled it when he was racing at the Preakness, but the latter may very well be true.

Caught me by surprise. I thought he had had a
good excercise just Wenesday.

I was looking forward to the Belmont Stakes.

Oh well.

I was...but I am glad they pulled him rather than risk another Barbaro. He will live a long happy life in stud.. Poor thing. LOL. Now, I get to look forward to finishing my tractor and getting an older chiken this weekend! Exciting stuff!

I listened to an interview with the trainer today and he aid that I'll Have Another had a good workout on Sunday, but then the next few days seemed off, then another good training day on Thursday, but then they noticed visible signs of the injury. He speculated that it may have occurred on Sunday, accounting for the next few days lackluster workouts, and finally external signs showed.

I watched my last TB race back when Eight Bells shattered both her front legs. I am an avid horse fan and supporter, but will no longer support the racing of babys. A very close friend of mine raises TB, but about 10 years ago quit breeding for racing and switched her broodmares to breeding for event type TB mounts. (One of her special favorite foals brokedown before 20 months of age.) Her number one reason was to keep her babys sound with a long show career. Her youngsters are not started under saddle until knees are x-rated as closed and able to start light work. But are started with ground work and line driving as a long yearling if mentally ready.

I have horses and breed also. I never start mine under saddle until their full 3rd birthday. But they are taught to linedrive and ground manners as soon as mentally and physically able. I want my horses to be sound well into their late 20s to early 30s.
