Anyone else not like The White House on The Hill?

It's also personal preference and me being a softie.
I can't bear to think of my birds being chased. I know they don't think like we do.
My cockerel has bumblefoot, and we have a lot of gravel.
I don't even like him running across to get to food. I have to go and be a taxi.

I had a chick that died. I stupidly put it near a hen. She pecked it and left a gash. He survived that, but died of something else.
I haven't been able to fully trust myself since then. Let alone a young child.
I'm a bit touchy on that subject.
Only, once something has died or been badly hurt, it's not always reversible.

It's not smart alec. I'm just stating what I fully believe to be true. And my experiences. Which haven't always ended well.
Ok , I guess I'm fine with that (not that it matters )

A little bit of chasing is natural, but being chased all around by humans that are screaming and trying to grab whatever they can reach (as little children seem to do) is different.
Yeah, I agree, but I was just saying they won’t necessarily die from it or stress or whatever because when I first put my cockerel in with the hens, everybody was very stressed for a long while. The girls because he was rude and annoying and him because him and his GF were relentlessly being terrorized. They survived though and are finally acting like one flock.

In my opinion, a good rooster does not chase the hens.
And yes. If the cockerel is being a jerk like that, often people do get rid of them. I don't. I'm soft. But other more practical people absolutely would.
Yeah agreed. I almost got rid of mine for the same because he would just chase and jump them all the time but he’s been better lately and isn’t doing it as much and he’s actually protecting them now. He still sometimes jumps them but he’s trying other moves too lol plus he’s very young so I figured it was age and hormones and sure enough he’s calming down.

What I'm trying to get at is that cockerels are the same species and usually same size. They aren't towering over every single bird with booming steps as they chase after hens

My three year olds haven't grown out of it.
😅 They still chase them sometimes.
It's different. A hen being chased by a cockerel is different to chickens being chased by humans.
I don't like it.
THEN, I will chase after them while they are chasing the hen, grab the cockerel and stop him attacking her.
And usually tell him he's a naughty boy. And how handsome he is. 😂
I have some older hens that they like to chase.

Yeah that makes sense. But even so, stress is stress no matter where it’s from. And if it was just stress we’d have a lot more chickens dropping dead. But I guess humans (or dogs or other “predators”) are different than an annoying rooster because with other chickens they’re not running for their lives. Although Jack thought he was :lau poor lad was terrified of the girls for so long 😂🤣 and he does tower over them because he’s a big moose, probably 10-12 pounds, running from my little tiny Leghorn or runty Orp hens 😂🤣

Yeah I give Jack a little chase sometimes (never far or anything) when he comes after me or is too rough with the girls. He’s been better with both lately.
