What I'm trying to get at is that cockerels are the same species and usually same size. They aren't towering over every single bird with booming steps as they chase after hens

Wow you guys got really mad at each other. I love the debating, though, for some reason watching people argue always makes me so happy.
Our chickens have always been chased and yelled at like crazy. My family has always been really bad about treating the chicks with respect, just as far back as I can remember my mom was capturing hens with fishing nets and we were pushing pullets down the slide. Somewhere along the line I learned better, but my 3 yr old sister, 6 yr old brother and dad are still very rough with chickens. Today we tried free ranging for a couple of hours, so I opened the door of the run and of the coop. They all got out but somehow 4 found their way back into the run while the other two were just outside. The four inside were pacing, trying to get out. I came to the back of the run with them to direct them back out the door when my dad came up, scooped up the friendliest rooster who was a bad leg and walks with a limp, and threw him out the door. Literally threw. He is okay, he caught himself and started flying, but he has been skittish since. Unfortunately I cannot keep the little ones away from the chicks either. Their brooder was downstairs and my brother would sneak downstairs while I was asleep and play with them, even after I repeatedly told him he could not touch the chicks unless I was in the room. My sister on the other hand literally has no boundaries. She will chase them to the garden and back, shrieking in delight the whole way. She cannot catch any but the most tame, who I kept with me at least 8 hours of the day since all the other eggs in her batch didn't hatch and her brother died. The chicken will now only let me pick her up half the time. Sorry, I totally just went on a rant.
Also, back on track, thank you so much for expanding on my previous post about mistakes and stuff! My points exactly.
I am very eager to watch the new white house on the hill video, and hopefully they will correct some of their mistakes!
