Anyone else suffer from bloat? **Update - post 21**

That is very sad. I'm glad she was finally diagnosed, but it is ridiculous that a proper diagnosis took that long.

Guess I was lucky. An excellent FNP diagnosed me in about 2 months. No way to forget that misery. I can remember being so hungry yet when I got to my mouth with food I just had to take it away. I can still remember the first day I felt well enough to eat after treatment also.

What about ..... oh crap what do you call it.. ah... gluton alergy? MY DC almost died. lost alot of her intestines, before they figured out she was intollerant of any gluton.

I feel the same way a lot of the time! I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Stress makes it worse.. Just watch what you eat.. This all started with a bout of Camplyobacter poisoning.

ETA: I had my gallbladder removed, and I am only 24! (removed at 19!)

Oh my goodness! All these horrible stories

Dinner last night just felt like a rock sat in my stomach, even 3 hours later!. All I ate was a turkey sandwich (no mayo or anything) and some rice.
After a few hours I drank some chamomile tea and some mylanta and finally went to sleep. Slept pretty well, still tired today though.
Not feeling great today, but better.



Ill ask the Dr about the different testing.

Good luck SarahFair! Keep on the doctors until you start to feel some relief. I can remember just eating bread/rice (how plain is that?)and my stomach/abdominal area feeling like there was barbed wire in there! Hope you can find some relief soon!

If you are on antacids and they are mildly helping, maybe you need something stronger prescribed like Nexium? I think there is a generic version now. If you are having problems from acid then you need something that will allow your stomach/esophagus to heal, which Nexium does. Until then, a person keeps on having trouble since the acid keeps eating away at the top of your stomach/esophagus creating some major pain/attacks! It takes 2-3 days to work, but it is smooth sailing after that! My family doc did tell me that Prilosec is, basically, the over the counter lower dosage version of Nexium and if I were to ever get into trouble with it again, to double up on the Prilosec (would equal the prescribed Nexium dosage) until I could be seen by the doctor.

There are just so many things it could be, as you have read -- no fun!! I really hope you feel better soon!
