Anyone else use an egg basket?

I do, a cheapie coated wire one from the dollar store. It is pretty cute though. I do have my great grandfather's egg basket, but it is almost one hundred years old. Right now, only one egg, so I hand carry.

Where sis you get that? I love it!

I had a friend bring it back from the UK for me!

They are on ebay, shipped from the UK and pretty pricey because of the shipping!

Ebay is going to be inundated with us BYC'ers looking for that same thing!

I went on an "egg skelter" web search and noticed a quote from somebody that "rolled his first egg from the top"...it did not have a pretty ending! I would think you should load them with caution.

I load with my finger against the last one! And I take it down when company comes, people can't resist "letting one roll"!

Against all common sense, how could anyone resist? It is a roller coaster for eggs!

I use an old basket to collect the eggs each day and then this is what I store them in on the kitchen counter. It was a gift from my DIL.

The egg skelter is neat, but it would certainly not work here! Between my husband and nieces and nephews, there would be plenty of games of "egg roller coaster" lol! The younger kids like to play "egg basketball" trying to get them into the basket from the coop, and I can't even let my oldest nephew (7) collect eggs anymore or find my egg basket on the counter because he loads up his pockets to take them home and hatch them in his closet!
