Day 22 for the one lone lemon blue cochin, 2 other eggs but pretty sure they are duds. I gave in after checking closely for pips or zips and opened the bator to candle

In my experience late hatchlings are weak and are going to weaken your flock if you use them as breeders in future.

That's assuming your temperature was right not too low during the hatch.

It is an emotional and sometimes difficult decision, I am not jugmental in this case, trying to save late hatchlings myself with mixed results, however most outcomes were negative in the end.

I had 2 Norwegian Jaerhon chicks hatch out yesterday and 2 today(day 22).
21 days is an average-if it's moving, don't give up.

Well since this is my first hatch and its an LG I am going to give it extra time and see. Its possible the temps fluctuated when i wasn't aware of it, but I don't know how much cooler temps can delay hatch.

I put 4 eggs under my broody silkie hens and when I checked 2 were developing and 2 not at all. Friday was 21 days and no sign of anything yet

I am not sure when to give up. They are silkie x ee's.

I have 3 silkie eggs on day 21 with not a peep or wiggle, I candle before lock down so I know they are in there. Does the Statement " they are Silkies" imply that they are unperdictable or late or what. I hope late is ok And if there are no cracks can I check by candling to see if they are still ok? I am worried. first timer and I sent for my eggs

Into day 22 here too. Bummed some as there has'nt been a wiggle, chirp or pip. Candled day 18 before lockdown and definite 18 day developed eggs left. Half thinking today they will litterally HOP out of the eggs. I'll hang on untill day 24 either way.
