I think for me it's the shorter days, colder temps, and general age of the birds. They've never had problems with the numbers in the pens... I WAS getting 35 eggs a day from one pen. Now I have them split into smaller breeder cages, 4 females to one male, and still no increase in eggs after 3 weeks. I hate keeping them in my solid-floor pens with shavings (SO messy), but that seems to be where they're happiest...
