Today was the first significant snow we've had since we got our Buff Orpingtons last spring. They didn't even want to stay in the covered run for too long. Spent all morning in the coop. We had a lull in the storm this afternoon. I opened up the run door, to let them out, and they freaked out and ran into the coop. . My rooster pecked at the snow that blew into the run, but that's it. I guess the term "chicken" is justified. Does anyone have chickens that are scared of the snow?

If this is the first heavy snow fall yours have seen then they are probably just a little thrown off by it. All my birds are having their first winter right now. It has snowed quite a few times and they have grown increasingly adventurous.
They seem to dislike/get spooked by heavy wind the most from my observations.

Mine saw their 1st snow on Thursday - and were horrified🤣 The chickens who normally yell until they are released from the run to free range, didn't leave the coop until almost 4pm. On Friday, they ran decided that snow was ok and ran through it to get to the grass (we only got about 2" of snow and part of it had melted by Friday midmorning)
