show me the feathered yards, gardens, ponds, and runs!

please.

Can't say what my yard looks like at home, but I can say the parakeet cages look like a mini pillow blew up. I clean up feathers off the floor daily and when I finish, they purposely pull a few out while sitting on top and watch them with one eye as they fall to the clean floor.

Mine too!

However, mine just got done molting and I feel like they started all over again. They are approx 14 wks old. Is it common to molt in the fall to prepare for winter?

Hahaha.

I've got random piles of snow from my Sebastopols here and there, and trails of black and brown feathers from some of my other hens, but I don't quite yet have all 70 some pillow remains. . . .

My big concern though is that I have a 6 month old pullet who is molting?!

Told someone the other day my yard looked like a bird masacre.

My younger birds were watching the feathers float in the air today. I was kind of funny because they'd watch a feather and then look at eachother and the look at me and then another feather would float by and it all started over again.

I've never seen birds molt this long either. My husband passed away in July and I swear I've had 2 dozen eggs since then and they've been molting ever since. Oh and my poor Silkies! I had just got them and they aren't looking ver silkie to me lately.

Usually I run out and collect a feather here and there to save for crafts, but I'm actually racking them up and tossing at this point. Racked yesterday and yard is covered again. I give for now. There are piles in corners and I've had to check to see if a bird is attached.

Goose, Muscovey, Chicken feathers everywhere ...

My DH asked me yesterday, "I thought you told me you raked up all the feathers yesterday", I told him ,"I DID-these are from today".
So many feathers around, I'm kinda surprised it doesn't look like a poultry/waterfowl nudist colony out there!
