Anyone ever buy MARTH brand wood shavings???

We have had this problem before. I use the small no pest strips in the coops. This seems to take care of the problem better than anything else I have tried. They are for crawling and flying insects.

I didn't find any bugs in the shavings. And I checked my girls again last night and there are barely any bugs any more. I dusted them with that stuff 3 days ago and one hen I did twice. Once the first day and again the next. Seems like that stuff I got is killing the bugs.

What a relieve!

City chook it's the fleet farm in Blaine , Yeah it is something else I tell ya.

I am relieved for you too fordmommy! Wish it was that easy for me, nothing I have been using has been working. I am about to have these little indestructible buggers analyzed somewhere maybe then I can figure out what I can use to kill them. I haven't bought the strips yet but I will be trying that this weekend. Ugghhh what a nightmare.......

Sorry to hear that that happened to you Rachel. I don't have any suggestions but I sure am thinking about you. That is really the pitts. Is it all in your garage or is it in the coop out back? I would try to remove the chips. I know that is expensive but what if they lay eggs and you have a second wave of the stuff. I get my bedding at Houles. It is called Dejnos. Maybe around $12.00. That seems high but that is what is written in my records. I haven't had any problems with it. I hope that you can get rid of all those critters.

When dealing with mites and lice you must continue periodic treatment according to the pesticide instructions on the product for the critter you are trying to get rid of, failure to do that can result in continued infestation and the bugs becoming immune to that pesticide.
