Anyone ever gotten a "foreign object" in their eggs?

Look at how and egg is fertilized. That is the only way something thAt didn't come from the blood stream can get into an egg. The object will always be outside the membrane though.

Hello there *waves* im new to this group,i dont have chickens BUT i have found a foreign object this morning in my poached egg

and i ambaffled ,aside from the fact i could have choked on it or broke a tooth if i had just bitten into my egg on toast
its a heavy ,hard,1cm in length metalball with a hole in one end, like it screws onto something .....in my poached egg as i cut into it....when i cracked it into my pan of bubbling water it sank to the bottom of pan ,still cooked fine tho
i add the pan was empty aside from the water to cook it
cananyone shed any light lol ,thanks jo

Whoaaa, that is crazy!!
Not sure how that could have ended up in the reproductive tract.
Yolk's a weird color too.
Tell us more about the bird that laid this egg.

Okay, someone in our local bird fanciers forum asked about this and having done chickens since I was just a little girl and never seen this (being 51 now) I was thinking I maybe should ask the experts. It seems well this is what she wrote:

"Hi all, a woman i work with handed me a twist tie and told me she found it in one of the chicken eggs she bought from me. i had never seen the black plastic twist tie before and I am baffled as to how it could have gotten in the egg. She swears it was in it, she cracked it into a bowl and stated it was inside the yolk.

After reviewing chicken anatomy i just don't understand how a twist tie could get into an egg, even if the chicken decided the twist tie was a tasty tidbit to eat. Granted the egg comes out the same hole as poop, but the egg is usually fully formed by the time it gets there. I have found nothing on the internet that states how this could happen and a talked to a state vet that said he didn't believe it.

anyone else ever have something pop up in an egg....other than a chick???"

I am of the opinion that the woman had a twist tie in the bowl and missed it. I can't see it ending up in the egg but I really would like to see what everyone else thinks of this. Any thoughts?

Well I've had a sizeable flock of chickens for over 20 years and never had anything of the like happen... until this morning which is what triggered a google search which led me here...we cracked our eggs into a noel as usual and there was an intact garlic clove inside the egg... never seen anything like it and have no idea how... anatomically should be impossible
