Anyone ever gotten a "foreign object" in their eggs?

No problem. I'm sick of snow, too, and we all have those *oops* days.

Now, wonder if you'll be able to convince her that twist tie was there beforehand.

never found a foreign object in any eggs. Have had eggs in eggs sorta things but never ever had any twist ties etc.... and my chickens do manage to find a lot of stuff on the ground thats non edible!. Its like you giving your chicken a worm and a day later cracking an egg and finding that worm in the egg.

I know I'm late on this thread, but I did find a foreign object in my chicken's 2nd egg laid ever and it's been bothering me all day. At first I thought it was a small worm (maggot), but under a magnifying glass, it looked more like a piece of cooked rice. It was firmer than a piece of rice and had some speckles on it. There was no head or body parts. I don't know that much about what can happen, but I'd sure like to know what it was. Sorry if I grossed anyone out.

I saw a posted picture online a while ago where a guy in another country swears he found a little gecko lizzard inside the egg, but to have that happen, the lizzard would have had to climb up the bum hole and get into the egg developing track to get "stuck" in the egg! It just doesn't seem plausible.......Unless it is worms or another "parasite" that can move around the bloodstream!

Hi, I've been searching all over for something like this as many years ago I DID find a foreign object in an egg and it's been bugging me ever since. No one is going to believe this BUT....

The object was a halfpenny piece, I absolutely kid you not. I broke the raw egg into the bowl, the yolk and white were both perfect. It was only when I looked at the shell that I noticed the halfpenny lodged in the end with the air sac (it didn't fall into the bowl with the rest of the egg). I am 100% sure I wasn't imagining it, neither was the coin in the bowl beforehand as it was stuck in one end of the shell. There must be a way this is possible, I don't know how, but this is proof enough for me!

Maybe some kind of deformity within the internal organs? It is possible as I saw it with my own eyes!!

Just when I thought I've heard it all... I look at this forum and realize I've heard nothing!
I had a chick hatch a few months ago, I've mentioned her in the thread "the chick who took forever to hatch". I found a hard little amber colored ball, same size as a marble, in the eggshell with her. It was next to one of her wings. It was not attached to her. I asked a vet recently and he reckons it may have been another chick, but her mom's never laid a double yolk egg that I know off...
Any ideas anyone?
Sorry I didn't take a photo, I was busy with the new baby and threw the "ball" away with the shells without thinking.
