Anyone ever had a problem with bees?

I agree that it is unlikely a swarm that has settled this late will be able to survive the winter, however, I had a hive swarm late last year that made it through (but in standard equipment.) First off, you have to be sure that you actually have honey bees. Where I live, beekeepers who are interested in collecting swarms usually have put in their names with the local fire department, as for some reason people tend to call there when they see a swarm.
