In Queensland (Australia) your not even allowed to keep rabbits as a pet as they are considered a pest. I remember whenever your drive over the border there is a sign warning you that if you take your pet rabbit over the border you could receive a fine of up to $30.000! At some points in time the fine has been up to $65.000! Every animal you should be owning here in Australia has to be domestic. You can have Quail, Ducks, Pheasants, etc, but they have to be from a breeder and cannot be taken from the wild (you’d be flat out trying to find most animals like that from the wild here).
