anyone ever made a lung scraper? If so, what did you use? Pictures

I can't remember who posted it now but someone used a mellon ball utinsil with the serated like edges. Looked like it do well. Try searching lung scraper.

I have some long-handled steel measuring spoons, and the 1 tsp size works perfectly as a lung scraper.

When you are reaching in to remove the internal organs, you know how you have to wriggle your fingers waaaaay forward to sort of grasp the heart area? If, when you're going forward to do that, you make sure that your fingertips are plowing tightly against the inside of the ribcage, you can actually free the lungs whole and ahve them come out with the innards. Nothing TO scrape

(Kidneys still have to be scraped out, I use a spoon, sometimes the bowl end and sometimes the handle end)

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

Yes, but an MDA approved facility looks so much better with one of these.

Oooh, that looks nice- $70 is a bit much though.

I will be working on something that will be much less then $70 soon.

I'm sure there is quite a mark-up on it. I wouldn't have been able to duplicate the weld of the scraper loop to the stainless tube at home.

In application though, I really like it. The insides of my ducks are really clean and professional looking.
