Just curious if anyone ever does this instead of buying Fertile eggs?

Would it be a bad idea to do that ? As in, would he hurt the hens or hens hurt the Roo ?

edit to add that this would be to get Fertile eggs.

Hey There,

I never "rented" a rooster... But I think it is possible.
Mostly it depends on how long you "rent" him.

If you rent him for a month or two, chances are when it comes time to go...
The hens will be a bit sad and the rooster mad.

But for a week? They might not worry. :D
Hope this helps, at least a bit!

I put a new roo in with my hens and they beat the mess out of him. Lol. I don't know if he was too wimpy or something. He is young too so that might have something to do with it.

I've never rented one, I don't need to as I have plenty, but I'd lend one out. And hope they didn't return it. Unless it was a show rooster or something, I don't see anyone wanting the rooster back.
