You know the little dome shaped one for classrooms? It was my starter and now I have outgrown it, trouble is...it is spot on every time with good hatches, great computerized temp and turning, humidity... Just an awesome little bator....LITTLE. I almost jumped on that Brinsea sale for the larger, but now they are all back ordered forever.
Little brinsea disc holds 12 Coturnix eggs (as in there are 12 little egg shaped cut outs). I am dying to put 24 in there crammed and just monitor the turning (I work from home so this is possible). I am also thinking of cutting out my own egg slots or using the chicken egg disc for more space to put eggs in....
Or do I come back down into reality and load the still air hovobator with turner? It has been spot on for months now too (used it as my hatcher JJ and Daddy style). Keeps temp and humidity perfect, don't have to touch the dial. Hadn't used the turner for the hatching, but now it's the still air hova or the brinsea...Maybe I'll do half and half. It's a small order of eggs at 24, but want to add in more of my own to about 36.
Also have an LG....brand new....temp spikes all month and through out two hatches, terrible humidity issues, killed.... IMHO, 25 eggs due to radical temp jump to 104 or better and then down to 98 on two separate occasions. Calm room, all other bators fine... No one touching the things but me.
What would you do? This addiction will drive a girl mad. (OK...I was already there...but you know what I'm sayin).
