Anyone ever tried crossing sebrights with silkies?

Because I'm seriously toying with the idea! I have an adorable little GL sebright roo who is just learning to crow. The only other hens right now are standard cochins and the sebright mother (the roo was thrown in as an unsexed fluff-ball with his mom). I've been trying to decide what I want to add. I love the personalities of the silkies, but I don't much care for the non-waterproof feathers in this climate. Tell me I'm crazy to be even considering this...

Post pictures of the offspring. Silky crosses of any sort make excellent broody mamas. Somewhere on site is a thread from someone who crossed silkies with leghorns and had several generations of broody high level egg producers - whoda thunkit?
