Back in May of this year I went to TS and was lured in by the Prairie Bluebell chicks. Strait run... I NEVER get strait run.... anyway, I ended up bringing home four adorable fluff balls, and turns out, I won the rooster lottery and all four of them were roos. I had one that was clearly dominant, and another that was 'second in command'. Having only 3 pullets I rehomed 3 of the 4 roos, keeping the smallest and friendliest of the 4. He did not crow when all four of them were here, and I know why, but the other three have been gone for about a week and he still isn't attempting to crow. As far as I know he never has, although he might have tried and been bullied into silence. I'm hoping he will eventually start singing the song of his people, does he just need a little more time?

He's still relatively young. The vast majority of LF males here crow at or around the 6 month mark. Certainly him being a little more mellow and potentially a little underdeveloped plays its part in this. I wouldn't worry at all

Ok thank you so much! I used to have multiple roos and they all crowed, so this was new for me. I'll give him a little more time, I just cannot wait to hear him sing :)

My cockerel was a late bloomer (no male specific feathering until around the 18 week mark). He didn't crow until a little after 6 months old and while it's a perfect crow, he doesn't actually do it very often. I thought he was broken for a while there but he's finally maturing. I will say he's still the perfect gentleman. Fingers crossed it stays that way and your little guy is well behaved!

Well I am VERY excited to announce that Rodney found his voice!!! A bit gravely sounding, but he hopped up on a stump, flapped his little wings and let his song ring out over the land! So relieved, I thought maybe being bullied by his 'brothers' may have silenced him forever.
