:/Anyone ever used Clavamox for chickens, have some left over from a dog injury. My 2 yr old Brahmin rooster is suffering from a fight, and almost frozen legs from hiding in outside shelter. He can't walk, I have him inside the house, gave him Hypericum for pain from my health food store today, and rubbed St John' Wort on his legs, recommended for nerve trauma from the cold. He sticks one leg out in front, it is cold to the touch. No bird vets in my area to get a prescription for other antibiotics. He was vaccinated for Mareks as a baby. Wondering if Clavamox is OK?? He is a gentle loving roo and I want to save him, hope he will be able to walk again.
Thanks, Kay & Frankie the roo.

My mom works for a vet, and says it would be ok. But we need to know a few things

How big is the chicken? Is the clavamox pill or liquid form?

Thanks for responding my rooster is a light Brahmin quite large, I think about 5 lbs, the Clavamox is 375 mg.s pill form. How much should I give him? He got beat up in a fight with another rooster about 3 weeks ago, and then after huddling in an outside shelter four days ago temp 28 degrees, we found him quite frozen, with his head injury from the fight and the hypothermia thought it might be good to give an antibiotic, no bird vets in the area for a prescription. Do I dissolve the Clavomox in water and dose that way?? We have him inside the house in a crate, he can not stand up, sticks the right leg out in front. thanks, Kay & Frankie the Roo.
