I am currently putting up this metallic tape in trees around our area where the chickens will be free-ranging and also making a post for the "Niteguard" solar powered lights that are supposed to ward off predators. We have to have 3 levels for our predators. Black bears, coyotes, wolves, foxes, coons, weasels, etc. here in the U.P. Apparently..these little panels charge during the day and automatically blink this red flash (to mimic eyes..eye level with the predator) about half a mile away. We will have them directly on a post aimed in 3 directions as behind the coop and run is our pole barn. So, to the right, left and in front of the coop and run. The tape is to help ward off our Bald eagles, Osprey and hawks we have up here.
I was wondering if anyone has tried these things before and did it help with predators? I already bought them, but my chicks won't be going out to the coop and run for 2 weeks. If anyone had used these before..do you have any tips or tricks? Thanks
