Anyone expecting chicks this week?

I don't know about their coloration, but your blue wyandottes are beautiful! My blue laced red wyandotte is a black and she's SO dark. She's also the smartest and friendliest. The little dominique died this morning. She wasn't as hardy or smart as the others but I thought she was fine last night. I think she ate pine shavings. :(

Just a couple of pics of the fluffy butts. Nice gentle birds.

We just got ours from Meyers two days ago. I’m so very excited and I love seeing all of your pics.

Just verified my order for next week. It is our yr to rotate flocks. I order from Schlecht Hatchery in IA as they are close enough to me in ND to feel comfortable about them shipping. I have 50 tried and true egg layers, 20 black sex link, 20 isa browns and 10 speckled sussex along with 75 cornish cross meat birds coming. I also have 27 in my incubator to also hatch next week (same day as my order will hatch so they are all the same age)... my incubator group will be a complete mix!... I currently have 62 hens, which are a mix of Light brahma's, buff rocks, silver laced windottes (sp), isa browns, americaunas, one lankashin (sp), White leghorn mixes, red leghorns, barred rocks and australorps! I think that is all! LOL I have 2 roos, one is a White leghorn mix (think he is mixed with an Isa brown roo) and the other is a mystery bird I recieved from McMurry Hatchery (went together with a cousin 3 yrs ago, and that is where she wanted to order from, but they are also in IA) and was a "special rare breed" and I believe it is an "old English" Roo. He is beautiful! .... I lost my Aussie Roo this fall at 6 1/2 yrs old. He became special to me after he survived a dog attack and lost all his tail feathers during that attack, which never grew back, thus he lost his dignity and became my "house roo", as in he spent all his time up by the house pretty much alone, but got special treats from me. Good luck to all!

DobieLover the hatchery is in ohio. If it was in spokane I would have packed up my family and made it an outing. That would have been really fun. But maybe harder to stick to a small number of chicks. We really shouldn't have more than a handful.
Hehe This is my first year with chickens... Meyer’s is about a 40 min drive from where we live. My husband keeps completely ignoring me every time I say we need to drive out there :lau We only have 2 Sapphire Gems, 1 tiny Buff Orpington, and an EE. They’re 8 weeks old. Then we have 2 Seabrights that are almost 3 weeks old. At this point, I think he tries to leave me home when he goes to TSC!!! Hahaha A hatchery would be dangerous!

Hatchery prices are CRAZY here (Australia) and they don't ship but I did pick up some mix breeds and a polish from a hobby breeder last Wednesday
