Anyone expecting chicks this week?

We just got ours from Meyers two days ago. I’m so very excited and I love seeing all of your pics.

Is your Olive egger bigger then you orphington. My female Olive egger is huge in comparison to the rest of my chicks.

@belindaschicks some of my Easter eggers, at a week old, Haven the biggest all along. The Brahmas are now catching up; the Jersey Giants are still in third.

Yes, I ordered the "Easter Eggers" and they should be here today or tomorrow. I am having problems with the nice chicken coop my son and husband built for me 10 years ago. It has mites! I am trying everything to decrease these before I have to put my new chick in there. I might have to buy a new chicken coop. Want a moveable one.

How do I treat mites and lice?

1. Spray the coop down with a high-pressure hose.
2. Pour boiling water into the cracks and joints.
3. Clean with dehydrated lime (wash thoroughly before letting your chickens back in).
4. Wait until everything is dry, then dust with Pestene powder or diatomaceous earth.

My golden laced Wyandotte chick is named Attila the Hen, she is so beautiful and she hates being picked up like poison. I have a feeling she's going to grow up into mostly a hands-off kind of bird unless I can do some serious treat bribery over the next few weeks. View attachment 1748745

I had two silver laced wyandotte that didn't liked being picked up either.
