Anyone experienced with buff ducks?

I just got my last 2 ducks and goose of the season, I wanted to try out another breed and chose the buff duck without knowing too much about them. I haven't come across any posts here that specifically mention them... looks like they are a less popular breed. If anybody has buff ducks...and buff as in the color not body type... could you tell me how their personalities are compared with another breed or size, voice, laying comparisons?

I'm just curious, My buff duckling seems to be very alert and vocal, her name is Samantha.

I have a Buff Duck, in color and body type, lol. I declare that with his body stance he is part goose. As you can tell by the "he" reference, he's a drake so I can't help with the egg and laying situation. As far as personality he's VERY comical and layed back kinda duck. He's very, very quiet compared to my Ancona's, Pekins and Rouens because they can be quite loud, especially the females. For the longest time I didn't think he could talk at all but he's just very soft spoken. His quietness and mildness has always put him at the bottom of the pecking order with his hatch mates, but since I have added the Pekins and Rouens he has started to show a little bit more dominance. He's one of those ducks that when you pick him up, he just hangs there. No fighting, no kicking and scratching, just a limp duck.

I have a buff crested duck, and he ( also a drake ) is very quiet, he is a nice duck though. Has character to him, but he lets himself get pushed around by the other ducks. He is a nice duck once you get ahold of him though, very friendly. I hope you enjoy your ducks

Thanks for the links, I researched that site for my geese, they always have good info, but i totally didn't think about it for my buff duck info, sounds like I have a good duck so far, I'm going to look up some pictures, hopefully I won't get a whole bunch of buff hockey guy pictures, well, I guess I won't totally mind if that happened....

I have some buffs, they are very sweet, and have a beautiful camel/caramel color. They haven't started laying yet, but I imagine it will be soon. They are a big noisy, but then I have and have most of my experience with mallards too, so it doesn't seem they are that they are that noisy. They aren't as nervous or fidgety as some other ducks.

I have three Buff hens, I found that it was really really hard to find anyone with any Buffs to improve on what I had, I must have looked for well
over six months for an excellent Q drake, I finally gave up. They also were not a popular seller.

They're excellent layers though and mine go broody, although I have yet to have them actually HATCH anything, my girls spent two months trying to hatch
unfertile eggs! (I tried chicken eggs, that did not work so well.) I have Cayuga drakes now, so they'll just hatch ducks for the auction at this point.

I had a buff. Only sold her because she was LLOOOUUUDDDDD and I live in the burbs. LOADS of personality, smart, and a nosy little busy body. I had an established trio and it took her about 2 days to take over the entire flock!

The 4h girl I bought her from actually won a ribbon with her.

And here is what you get when you cross a buff with a khaki male. She looked like a khaki but totally had the buff "attitude".
